Brilliant Cutting
By using CAD-CAM we can produce intricate and geometric patterns on the glass surface. Groove widths are available in 6mm, 10mm or 20mm. Beautiful designs are available and can be used on mirrors, cabinet doors and on double glazed units as an alternative to leaded designs.
Bevelling
Glass up to 10mm thickness can be bevelled up to a maximum bevel width of 35mm. Mirrors of 4mm and 6mm thickness can also be bevelled. Shaped bevelling is also available.
CNC Processing
Our CNC machinery enables us to carry out automatic drilling, routing and edgework on flat glass from 4mm -19mm in thickness. Intricate shapes and cut outs are easily achieved with the perfect finish.
Sandblasting
Often referred to as "etched glass" our designs are computer generated to produce standard images, or individual custom made designs to suit the client's requirements. When applicable we can also apply deep sand blasting and shading (sand carving) which creates a three dimensional effect using light and shade. These techniques are applied to glass doors, windows, table tops, partition glass walls, shower screens and mirrors.
Double Glazed Units
Our units are made to British Standard EN1279. We manufacture float units, Pilkington "K" units; obscure units using both Pilkington and Saint-Gobain patterned glass. Other types of double glazed units include: toughened, laminated, brilliant cut, leaded, bevelled, stained, sand blasted glass and georgian bars.
Drilling
Holes can be drilled in all types of flat glass. The diameter of the hole ranges from 4mm to 63mm. Applications include mirror fixing, door handles and balustrade clamps.
Cold Pour Laminating
At Windsor Glass we use the Unilam International system to manufacture laminated glass in-house. The process offers the customer the benefit of safety, security, sound insulation and an unlimited aesthetic potential. Virtually any combination of glass types can be laminated with this method. Float, toughened, mirrored, patterned and wired glasses can all be easily laminated. By adding coloured pigments the customer can be provided with the most exotic design requirement. The range includes transparent, opaque, metallic, pearlescent and flourescent colours.
U.V. Bonding
Glass bonding has become more and more popular due to its optical attractiveness and innovative technology. There are a range of U.V. curing adhesives to suit a variety of applications; for example, glass shelves bonded to mirrors, the construction of glass furniture; i.e, television stands, cd and dvd racks and hi-fi cabinets.
Edgework
Various edge profiles are available. These include bevelled edge, ogee edge, triple pencil edge and flat edge finish.
Ritec Clear Shield Coating
A polymeric resin which chemically bonds to the glass. Clear Shield is completely transparent and becomes part of the glass, so will not peel, flake or crack. The Clear Shield resists staining and discoloration and ensures that the glass stays cleaner for longer. It can be used on any glass but in particular sand blasted glass and glass shower screens.
